Within the Niki Athens Hotel is this 100% plant-based vegan restaurant in Athens Greece. Everything is prepared in-house using organic raw ingredients. And the menu is constantly changing to incorporate and highlight what’s in season.
Plants, marble tables, and neon purple signs give Winners Vegan an edgy vibe that makes you want to dress up and sip cocktails.
The name of this vegan restaurant says it all! And every dish is a winner. I went with the Gluten Free Pasta that was tossed with kale in a creamy apple cider vinegar, lemon sauce. Sprinkled with activated yeast. The lemony sauce was delicious. And the addition of activated yeast gave it a cheesy taste.
The Vegan Shaksuka was also a winner for us. Served with a delicious side of coconut bacon. The Beyond Burger was very saucy. And came with gooey, melted vegan cheese.
The Tumeric Latte was far too intriguing to pass up. This superfood comes with several health benefits. And is a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. The latte was sweetened with almond milk and Medjool dates. Making it a sugar-free delight.
It’s not often that you find gluten free desserts, so I was not about to pass up Winners Vegan’s Açai Cheesecake. The Açai Cheesecake was served on a base of ground almond and sweet potatoes. I never considered sweet potato in a dessert. But when done well, it practically tastes like candy.
Winners Vegan is not your typical vegan restaurant. The dishes are unique and inventive. Reminiscent of a luxury restaurant. The space exudes attitude. And the menu was tasty, yet healthy. With exciting small bites, fuelled by endless cocktails. And “Namaste Bitches” scrawled across the wall in neon purple!
