There’s two reasons that I’d highly recommend getting one before you head off on your travels.
The first being your credit rating. If you’re jetting off around the world for a year or so, your credit rating could (and will) be impacted. Probably more than you realise. Particularly when a large majority of credit cards allow you to earn points that can be redeemed for flights, give you cashback, and some even ensure that you’ll never be charged a fee no matter where in the world you use it.
