Saying that, I’m a bit wary about what I actually put into my body. Most people think fresh fruit and veg = great. Absolutely no problems there. To an extent I tend to disagree with this statement. I believe that the way in which these items are produced, can, in the long run, have a massive impact on our health, which is why I tend to eat organic as much as possible.
When it comes to organic, there tends to be a rather hefty price tag attached. The EWG’s (Environmental Working Group) Shopper’s Guide to Pesticides in Produce is my saviour to help me decide what I’m willing to sacrifice on and what I’m not. They have a list called ‘The Clean 15‘ & ‘The Dirty Dozen’.
This list comprises of 15 and 12 fruits and vegetables, with the least and most amount of chemical residue respectively. Regardless of your beliefs, or whether or not this has ever crossed your mind, no one wants to put harmful chemicals, herbicides or pesticides into their body.
