I think it’s safe to say most of us have had at least one of those awful working weeks when we’ve become unbelievably stressed, where we can feel the knots in our shoulders growing by the second. But as soon as 5pm arrives, we can always look forward to having a little ‘me’ time in the comfort of our own homes. Or splashing out on a relaxing massage at the end of a long day.
Unfortunately, most of us can’t afford that luxury every day. I’ll let you into one of my little secrets. I have something that’s even better than a massage. Well not exactly, but it does the job and it’s completely free. Exciting I know.
What is it you ask? It’s one very simple yoga move; a downward dog. I know you’re probably rolling your eyes right now, I mean as if a downward dog (whatever that is) could ever claim to be as good as a massage, right?
Back to the downward dog, not only will it help you relieve back and shoulder pain, it will strengthen your body, improve your circulation, give your heart a break from pumping all of that blood to your brain, and I’m pretty sure it’s the only pose that stretches your entire body at the same time. Pretty cool, hey?
Anyway, this isn’t a lecture on the benefits of yoga; rather, an easy, simple way to help you relax and unwind during your day or on your travels.
Hope it helps.
